If you have ever had a coldsore, permanent cosmetic lip services do disrupt the tissue of the lips, which can cause a coldsore flare up. a prescribed prophylactic antiviral medication is started PRIOR to the procedure to prevent the possibility of an outbreak. If you have never had a coldsore, you do not need preventative medication. Examples of antiviral medications: Zovirax, Famvir or Valtrex. These must be prescribed by your doctor. We recommend you take 2 days before the appointment, the day of, and 3 days following the appointment or as directed by your physician.If you are unsure, or do not have a strong history of cold sores, you may also choose to take lysine supplement (found at drug or health stores) for at least two weeks before the tattoo.
The following list contains helpful do's and do not's in the days and weeks prior to your service.
* For one week leading up to the appointment, moisturize your lips as much as possible. We recommend Aquaphor.
* You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. You can use a lip scrub or create your own using a little honey and sugar.
* *It is advised to wait 3 months post lip filler. We recommended that you have the permanent lip enhancement first and then the lip filler injection once lips are healed.
* *Do not drink alcohol 24hours before your tattoo
* *Limit caffeine (1 coffee) day of.
* *Do not take advil/buprofen products
* Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
